One of my favorite things lately is watching the horses graze as the sun sets. The varying light playing on their coats, the pasture, and the now-blooming goldenrod in the adjacent lot is just so gorgeous. Autumn weather has arrived in Canaan and it is so very welcome.
ugh I LOVE watching horses graze in the sunset. But it's never even occurred to me to sit there with my camera and catch the light playing on their beautiful shiny coats at my own house haha. So peaceful <3 I love your rainbow of colors!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite time to watch them, too. Plus it's that perfect time when their coats are so lush as the winter dark ones start to grow in
ReplyDeleteGOD I WANT FALL....the colors the cooler weather i want it all! HAHAHA here in humid Tennessee I am just drooping over your photos :) Enjoy!
ReplyDeletedrooling not drooping. I am drooping in TN :)
DeleteI LOL'd at this pretty hard.
DeleteI love autumn. My only complaint is that it is followed by winter.
ReplyDeleteSo idyllic!
ReplyDeleteThat last shaking photo of Q is gold. And that's one of the things I miss most about my horses... just watching the evening light play across their coats as they grazed...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree that watching horses graze in golden light is one of the best things about autumn.
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep them all so fit? You're only one person. My favorite pic was the one through Q's white legs. Looking up "goldenrod" now....
ReplyDeleteA great question! Fortunately for me, I have a lot of friends who are intrested in riding and I am more than happy to share my horses. I worked pretty hard to get them all to a point where I trust them with a variety of people and having those other people around makes it possible. It's also nice to give back by letting others ride my horses because that's how I originally got into horses and wouldn't be where I am today without that!
DeleteLove your blog! Your pictures are great! I'm so jealous of your pastures, I live in CA and while my horses have two good sized pastures everything is brown and dry, no green grass to be found anywhere. They will have to wait for some regular rain before their turn outs get a little green. :) Hope your fall is lovely!
