Snow Play

While this winter has been absolute crap for those of us who enjoy snow, it's been fun to watch the horses play in the little we have had.

It all starts innocently with them standing in the eddy created by the house so they can avoid the wind.

But then Griffin inevitably starts something.

And most surprisingly, Staniel has begun to participate!

Usually it's just bitey face

But sometimes things escalate

Which results in Q immediately removing herself.  She's so funny. She's NEVER had time for play in any living situation.

Griffin on the other hand... Rearing is his signature play move outside of bitey face

Q firmly removing herself from these shenanigans cracks me up...

But I can't really blame her...

Griffin is quite relentless in his insistence for games and she hates to be asked to play

Just look at that face!

Ultimately though, he becomes too predictable and Stan manages to get a good shot in. Right to the jugular this time!

They always come back together to graze after their games

Such happy ponies

During another snow event, I let them out while I mucked the dry lot so they could all roll
20200216_102328
Stan had already rolled before I could get the camera out!

I was giggling pretty hard by this point at their immediate near-unison rolling.

Stan realizing that he's now got to roll where Q rolled. Because reasons.

They are beauty, they are grace

  3. LOL, Carmen and Q are soooo similar. Her disdain is palpable. I love how horses always love to roll in the same spot as another horse. I don't know why but it's funny.
